Acer expands its gaming laptop offering with the Predator Triton 16

Acer has introduced the Predator Triton 16 to expand its line of gaming laptops. The model follows the path of other Predators presented last month, betting on the latest processors and graphics from Intel and NVIDIA, respectively.

The Predator Triton 16 mounts a 16-inch IPS screen with WQXGA resolution for 2560 x 1600 pixels. Its maximum brightness is 500 nits and its refresh rate rises to 240 Hz. It supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has compatibility for Advanced Optimus that allows interchanging the dedicated and integrated graphics depending on the task type and NVIDIA G-SYNC synchronization technology.

The notebook uses a premium metal chassis that is only 19.9mm thick. Its thinness and component power demands a state-of-the-art cooling system, custom-designed 5th generation AeroBlade 3D metal fans, liquid metal thermal paste on the CPU, and a series of specially designed ducts and vents.

The laptop uses the most advanced Intel processors, the Raptor Lake Mobile with Core i9 models running up to 5.4 GHz. The chosen GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , with support for DLSS 3 and Max-Q technology to optimize graphics plotting. lightning and performance across the board. It is accompanied by up to 32 Gbytes of DDR5 5200 MHz memory and dual PCIe M.2 solid-state drives of up to 2 Tbytes in RAID 0 configuration.

In terms of connectivity , it has an Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro (E2600+WiFi 6E 1675i) network card, along with a generous number of ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1, a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4 and a Micro SD card reader. It also includes a fingerprint reader with support for Windows Hello in authentication and security tasks. Its audio system supports dts-x, it has a per-key RGB backlit keyboard and a good-sized touchpad.

The Predator Triton 16 (model number PT16-51) pre-installs Windows 11 and Acer adds the PredatorSense app to adjust usage settings based on performance, fan speed and battery life with four modes to choose from, Quiet, Balanced, Performance and Turbo. The laptop will be available in September in North America for $1,799.99. It will arrive in Europe that same month with a price that will start at 2,299 euros . Like other of the notebooks announced this week by Acer ( Swift X 16 ), they will be exhibited at the Computex 2023 show that is being held this week in Taiwan.
