The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 should follow the path started by the X13 convertible introduced last year in Las Vegas. From what we see in the images, it is a tablet with a detachable keyboard , magnetic connection and a general design reminiscent of Microsoft’s Surface Pro. (It could also be a convertible, it is not clear). We see a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port, a headphone jack, what appears to be a microSD card reader, and another housing that could be for SIM cards.
Your screen will repeat in size at 13 inches , we assume with good resolution (minimum FHD) and high refresh rate (minimum 120 Hz). Its internal specifications are not known and if the manufacturer will bet on the Ryzen Mobile . Its graphics capacity will improve from the GTX 1650 to an RTX 3050 Ti and it will have plenty of memory (16 Gbytes LPDDR5) and storage, with PCIe solid state drives of up to 1 Tbyte.
Another of the hallmarks of this tablet will be its connector for the external graphics that it can equip and that will raise its performance to that of the best gaming laptops. This is the ROG XG Mobile , which last year mounted an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 from 150 W with ROG Boost.
Connects via a custom PCIe 3.0 x8 interface, which ASUS says offers more speed and more compatibility than existing Thunderbolt 4. In addition, this external graphics also functions as a hub, with USB Type-A 3.2 Gen ports 1, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a full-size SD card slot, plus DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0a that connect directly to the external GPU.
On the 4th we will officially know what this ASUS ROG Flow Z13 will offer. It looks great , although with the external graphics included it will not be suitable for low budgets. We already tell you.
