The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be the best tablet Samsung has ever produced and the spearhead of the Android platform to get closer to the high-end sales leader, Apple’s iPad Pro.
Samsung will hold a new Unpacked event at the end of July to present its new generation of folding phones, Fold 5 and Flip 5. It is also expected to announce new tablets, the most advanced in its ‘S’ series catalog and that will be distributed in three variants, standard, Plus and Ultra.
First look at the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
The tablet has recently been located in regulators such as 3C and in testing sites such as Geekbench, which has revealed some of its specifications. Based on them and previous ones, the popular filter OnLeaks has published images and video (renders) along with its main features.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be a large device, with a 14.6-inch multi-touch OLED display with 2960 x 1848 pixel resolution and 120% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Its chassis will be made of aluminum and will have an IP68 resistance rating against water and dust. It will have dimensions of 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5 mm and will weigh 737 grams.
The design is visible, ultra-thin and very well finished as expected . On the back we see the Samsung brand and a dual camera setup accompanied by an LED flash. On the right side will be the physical power and volume keys, and on the left we see Pogo connector pins to connect peripherals such as an external keyboard that will allow working with the tablet on the desktop for productivity tasks.
At the bottom we see a speaker grill (it will mount four of them) and a USB Type-C port for charging and data. In terms of connectivity, compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 is expected, in addition to full support for 5G mobile networks . It will support and include in the pack S Pen stylus.
Its engine will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, Qualcomm’s most powerful this year, combined with 8 or 16 GB of RAM. Its battery will also be high-capacity, 11,200 mAh with 45W fast charging. It will come standard with Android 13 and the latest version of Samsung’s own user interface, One UI 5.1.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is expected to be the best Android tablet on the market and one of the few capable of standing up to Apple’s iPad Pro. It won’t be cheap , just like the Galaxy Tab S8 wasn’t, and you can expect a price point above $1,200. If you don’t need that much, you’ll have to go to the mid-range tablets where there are models as interesting as the GRAVITY 4 Plus that we presented to you yesterday.
