LG StandbyMe Go is basically a display packed in a carrying case. A curious product, halfway between a small portable television and a giant tablet. You may like it or not, but these developments are appreciated for being different and innovative .
A couple of years ago, LG launched the StandbyMe series as a screen with support that allowed it to be moved around any office or home and with independent operation due to its integrated battery. Now it presents a second model that, unlike the first that could only be used in specific units, is committed to total mobility and can be moved and used anywhere.
As you will see in the images, on the outside it is a briefcase like the one we use for transport. Well, a bit bigger with dimensions of 670 x 433 x 119mm when closed. The case claims to have passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade tests for shock, drop, dust, and vibration resistance. It has a handle for easy transport.
The interesting thing about this LG StandbyMe Go is inside, with a 27-inch diagonal multi-touch LCD screen and FHD native resolution for 1920 x 1080 pixels, attached to a support that allows you to adjust the height and angle of the screen or even rotate it 90 degrees to use it in portrait orientation. There is a compartment to store a remote control, charging cable and other accessories.
The screen, which we can consider a giant tablet, has four speakers and is compatible with the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound standards. It consumes 20 watts and has an integrated battery that promises up to 3 hours of autonomy on a single charge.
The screen is governed by the webOS operating system, a Linux Mobile that LG uses in its televisions. It supports Apple AirPlay and screen mirroring for Android and iOS with LG Mobile Screen Mirroring. It has apps for major streaming services, NFC tap-to-pair, and wireless to connect peripherals and accessories. It can be operated with touch controls, by the included remote control and also by voice control. Includes connections for HDMI and USB.
