As you will remember, last week we told you that the long-awaited ChatGPT app was already a reality . Of course, when saying this it is necessary to clarify that I am referring to the official app, the OpenAI app, since in recent months both the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android have been filled with apps designed by third parties that provide access, generally going through the box, to the chatbot. And of course, as always happens, cybercriminals have also tried to get a piece of it from the start. Thus, having an own OpenAI app is, without a doubt, excellent news.
In its debut, yes, the app was only available in the App Store in the United States, although OpenAI stated that they intended to make the leap to other markets soon . This, of course, is usually interpreted in terms of months, but on this occasion interpreting it that way, in view of the facts, would have been a mistake, since between last Wednesday and today, the official ChatGPT app has reached the App Store of iOS from other 45 countries, which are the following:
- Albanian
- Germany
- Algeria
- Argentina
- Azerbaijan
- bolivian
- Brazil
- Canada
- Chili
- South Korea
- Costa Rica
- Croatia
- Ecuador
- United Arab Emirates
- Slovenia
- Estonia
- France
- Ghana
- India
- Iraq
- Ireland
- Israel
- Jamaica
- Japan
- Jordan
- Qatar
- Kazakhstan
- Kuwait
- Lebanon
- Lithuania
- Morocco
- Mauricio
- Mauritania
- Mexico
- Namibia
- Nauru
- Nicaragua
- Nigeria
- New Zealand
- Oman
- Pakistan
- Peru
- Poland
- United Kingdom
- Tunisia
So, counting the United States, its native market, the official ChatGPT app for iOS is already available in a total of 46 countries and, given the speed with which it seems that OpenAI has undertaken this process, we can think that we won’t have to wait. long until the app is also available in the Spanish App Store.
We expanded the ChatGPT iOS app to 30+ more countries today! Now serving users in Algeria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Estonia, Ghana, India, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania (????1/2)

If you have reviewed the list of countries, you will have verified that I have highlighted eight of them in bold, and of course I have not done it for aesthetic reasons. Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, France, Ireland, Lithuania and Poland are part of the European Union , which I cannot help but interpret as further confirmation that, as I mentioned a few hours ago, OpenAI is very interested in the market. that constitutes the common European space and that, consequently, despite what has been said by many media, there are no plans to leave the EU .
For the rest, it is interesting to see that despite the fact that the deployment of the app is gradual, its plans are global, since the app is already available in countries on five continents . However, perhaps as a way to reduce the potential impact of this deployment on the infrastructure necessary to provide the service, for now the official ChatGPT app remains exclusive to iOS, although OpenAI promised a version for Android “soon” . Let’s hope it’s as fast as the international expansion of the iOS version.
