Genesis Holm 510 RGB, review: Much more than a simple table

In this sense, there is no doubt that the Genesis Holm 510 RGB is one of the best examples, since it is a table that is not satisfied with being just another piece of furniture [19459005 ], but rather aspires to become a benchmark within the gaming table sector.

I know what you are thinking, that in the end a table is a table. If we approach it from a general perspective, yes, a table is a table, just as a chair is a chair, and a PC is a PC, but if we are strict, the truth is that in many cases the distinctive gaming It ends up making such a big difference that it is not fair to put them all in the same bag . It is not difficult to understand, think, for example, of the differences between an office PC and a gaming PC, or the distance that separates a normal chair from a gaming chair.

Exactly the same thing happens with gaming tables, although not all dare to make such an ambitious and interesting bet, like the Genesis Holm 510 RGB, a model that I have been lucky enough to test for several weeks and that Frankly has left me pleasantly surprised . I want to emphasize this because gaming furniture has never particularly caught my attention, in fact the main desk where I work daily, and where two PCs sit, is the most traditional.

The Genesis Holm 510 RGB has changed my point of view because, as I am going to tell you in this review, combines the best of a traditional piece of furniture with the latest advances in the technological sector. This allows you to make a big difference and offer, at the same time, a very interesting differential value compared to a classic table. I do not want to advance anything in particular, so we will go into the matter directly. Get comfortable, let’s get started.

Genesis Holm 510 RGB: First contact and specifications

The Genesis Holm 510 RGB is, as we anticipated, a gaming table. It comes perfectly packed and protected, both in general, with padding and packaging separated from the smaller pieces that avoid possible friction and damage from blows, as well as in the corners of the board. The latter is very important, since prevents damage to the most vulnerable areas of the same.

Thanks to that good packaging, and the protections used by the Polish company, I received the Genesis Holm 510 RGB with considerable marks on the box, but without any internal damage. As I took out the different parts of the Genesis Holm 510 RGB, I took the opportunity to check the state in which they were, and also to have that first contact with them. The first sensations they gave me were very good, and the solidity of the board is worth mentioning.

In the attached image you can see almost all the materials that we will need to assemble the Genesis Holm 510 RGB. In the bag that is located just in front of the dashboard there are all the screws perfectly separated and arranged by letters , an important detail since, in the instruction manual, the type of screws that we have to use are differentiated in each part referring directly to the letter with which it is identified. This greatly facilitates and speeds up the assembly process.

To build the Genesis Holm 510 RGB we don’t need anything other than what comes in the box. All the hardware is tightened with the included Allen key, so we do not have to resort to any other tool, at most scissors to carefully open the sections that separate each group of screws, but it is not essential either.

In terms of materials, the Genesis Holm 510 RGB uses a board made of chipboard wood , a material that is characterized by offering a good value for money , since it is much cheaper than solid boards, but it maintains excellent strength and offers high resistance. It is covered by a finish similar to carbon fiber that gives it a really attractive touch. For its part, the legs are made of steel, and in the central piece that is part of the base structure we find a strip with RGB LED lighting.

All the holes are well defined, and the truth is that even without looking at the manual I think that any average user would be quite clear where to start mounting. In my case, I’m the son of a carpenter, I must admit that as soon as I saw it, it seemed to me quite simple , so I wanted to see if it would also be affordable for someone with less experience, and I let my partner take the lead the rudder during assembly. Everything went perfectly, and a lot of fun.

Genesis Holm 510 RGB: Assembly and user experience

The first thing I recommend, if you are going to assemble any piece of furniture, is that you think about where you are going to work more comfortably. This is important because, in some cases, it is better to use a table, but in others we have no choice but to go to the floor. In both cases, it is recommended, if we are going to work with sensitive materials , place something to cushion and prevent friction between what we are going to mount and the surface where we are going to do it.

In my case, to finish mounting the Genesis Holm 510 RGB, I used the plastic sheet that came in the box . This allowed me to avoid that the board could suffer any kind of damage , no matter how minimal, during the final assembly stage. However, during the assembly process of the metal structure, this was not necessary because my floor is not particularly sensitive, but for those of you who have wooden floors it would be recommended.

The first step is to place the additional leg support on the central metal frame. It has no mystery, and the screws are perfectly identified, so it is impossible for us to be wrong. I advise you not to fully tighten one screw and then the other, it is better to tighten both to an intermediate point so that they can finish fitting perfectly, and then apply a little more force to reinforce the hold.

We have this step completed, so we are ready to place the legs. These have to be subject to several points , it is not complicated, but if you have doubts, take a good look at the manual. Again, I advise you to place all the screws by exerting a moderate force, and that once you have them ready, you finish applying the necessary force so that the legs are well supported. The legs must be as you can see in the attached image.

With the legs mounted, we are ready to place the support bases (two on each leg). We just have to screw them in by hand, so it’s very simple. Once we’re done, the next step is to bolt the steel frame to the deck. To do this, we place the board upside down, as we see in the image, and carefully place the metal structure on it. Make sure all the holes match, and that the orientation is correct. In case you have doubts, I leave you a «trick», the side of the board where there is a notch goes behind, and the RGB LED strip as well.

We place all the screws in their corresponding holes and screw a little. If they all fit well, without forcing, we can start to tighten them carefully. When we are done, we also screw the drink holder, the headphone holder and the basket. Once we are done, we are ready to turn the table . This process can be done by one person alone without problem, since it is not particularly heavy, but it is much more comfortable if someone gives us a hand. The last step that we have left is very simple, place the supports for the headphones.

The entire RGB LED lighting system, and the charging base, work through USB connectors , so if we don’t have a plug nearby we won’t have anything to worry about. The hub with three USB 3.0 ports included in the Genesis Holm 510 RGB plays a very important role, since it makes the USB connectors that comes with no burden.

We’re done, now it’s time to start enjoying the Genesis Holm 510 RGB. The first thing that caught my attention was the breadth and quality of the dashboard finishes . This texture that imitates carbon fiber looks very good, gives it a touch of indisputable quality, and transmits fantastic sensations to the touch. Going back to that spaciousness that the Genesis Holm 510 RGB boasts, we have plenty of space to fit almost any type of configuration that we can think of, and a laptop and other accessories will fit perfectly.

I know that many of you place your PC on the bottom, I prefer to place it on the table . With the Genesis Holm 510 RGB we can do it without problem, and we can also move the stands for the speakers and use them to place other things on top. This is an important advantage, as it translates into greater flexibility.

If we are going to use wireless charging, and to activate the RGB LED lighting, we will have to connect the USB provided by the Genesis Holm 510 RGB . Depending on the type of equipment that you are going to place, and the distance at which it is, you can play with the connectors and the hub in the way that suits you best. In any case, the important thing is that, thanks to that hub with three USB ports, we will not have to sacrifice any USB port to enjoy the Genesis Holm 510 RGB.

The quality of the RGB LED lighting on the Genesis Holm 510 RGB is good, and having a wireless charging base represents a very important value , since you don’t have to worry about connecting the smartphone to the charger. You can arrive, leave it on the base and load it keeping it next to you while you enjoy your favorite games. It was a detail that I really liked, so much so that I think it should come by default on all gaming tables on the market.

On my desk I don’t have wireless charging, and many times I forget to charge my smartphone, so when I want to find out, I have almost no battery. I have no choice but to get up and put it to load. With the Genesis Holm 510 RGB, this has not happened to me, since in the end you take the routine of leaving it on the charging base. It is very comfortable, and very useful.

I also liked the stability offered by the Genesis Holm 510 RGB. It is true that, if we make a very abrupt movement, it can move a little, but this is not normal, so we will not have any kind of problem. I’ve used it for both work and play, and the experience has been near perfect.

As you can see in the attached images, I have tested the Genesis Holm 510 RGB with two laptops on top, and I have sat on a Genesis Nitro 890, a chair that I also had the opportunity to analyze at the time [19459003 ]. The height of the Genesis Holm 510 RGB is perfect , and allows you to use any type of equipment, PC or laptop, with total comfort.

As for the RGB LED lighting, it has a very good quality, has a high brightness, and is very easy to manage thanks to the included remote control . We can effortlessly create different environments, and switch between different colors, modes and effects with the push of a button. A well-resolved detail, since it more than meets its objective, and in the end it saves us from having to install additional software.

Final notes: Beyond the furniture

To correctly assess the Genesis Holm 510 RGB we have to start from two different keys, its quality as a piece of furniture, and the value that its technological and gaming side brings . The first point has been very clear, this table uses a chipboard with a medium density that offers high solidity and stability, has a finish that imitates carbon fiber that gives it a very beautiful and attractive aesthetic, and is supported in a very reliable solid metal frame.

The assembly process is very simple, and is perfectly explained in the manual. The Polish company has taken special care to make sure that anyone can mount the Genesis Holm 510 RGB in a few minutes, without too much effort, and without having to resort to any additional tools. Obviously, this is an important point in your favor. Once we have it assembled, we find that, as a piece of furniture, the Genesis Holm 510 RGB has outstanding quality, an elegant design and an attractive aesthetic.

At a technological and gaming level, the Genesis Holm 510 RGB provides two great values. On the one hand, it has a fully customizable RGB LED lighting system that we can control with the remote control. This will allow us to create different environments and effects depending on what we are going to do, the weather or even our mood. The wireless charging base is a very important addition , and very interesting, since we can use it to charge a smartphone or a wireless mouse, for example.

The icing on the cake is the USB port hub, which, as I have already said, prevents the three USB connectors used by the Genesis Holm 510 RGB from being a burden, and we also have spaces for wiring, for drinks and to hang the headphones. Overall, the Genesis Holm 510 RGB is an outstanding table , both for its value as a piece of furniture and for what it offers from a technological point of view. Recommendable.
