Gansu Wind Farm, China
Located in the Gansu province of China, it has an installed capacity of 20 gigawatts (GW), making it the largest wind farm in the world in terms of capacity. It has more than 7,000 wind turbines that are spread out over vast stretches of land.
Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm, UK
Located on the east coast of England, this offshore wind power giant has a capacity of 6 GW and is made up of over 300 wind turbines.
Roscoe Wind Farm, Texas, USA
It is one of the largest wind farms in North America. With an installed capacity of approximately 781 megawatts (MW) and more than 600 wind turbines, the Roscoe Wind Farm and others like it make Texas known as the “Wind Power State” in the United States.
Fosen Wind Farm, Norway
This facility consists of several individual parks, including Kvenndalsfjellet and Roan. Together, these parks have an installed capacity of around 1 GW and have more than 300 wind turbines in a mountainous and windy region perfect for wind power generation.
Shanghai Offshore Wind Farm, China
Located on the east coast of the Shanghai province, this offshore wind farm has an installed capacity of approximately 2 GW. With more than 200 wind turbines, it plays an important role in reducing China’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Maranchón Wind Farm, Spain
Located in the province of Guadalajara, in Castilla-La Mancha, the Maranchón Wind Farm is one of the largest wind farms in Spain and has an installed capacity of around 208 megawatts (MW). Although it is a bit far in capacity from the previous ones, this park is made up of more than 100 wind turbines distributed throughout the beautiful hills and plains of the region.
